Beppi Casual Boot Baby are year-round ankle boots for little walkers, from the Portuguese brand Beppi. The upper is made of smooth synthetic leather in cream with a dusty pink trim around the ankle. Two velcro straps make them easy for you to fasten and adjust.

They suit spring, autumn and mild winter days. They work well as your child's first autumn shoes for nursery, when morning dew and fallen leaves are too much for low trainers but insulated winter boots are not yet needed.

1. Are they suitable for mud and autumn walks?
   The upper copes with short showers, dew and wet grass, but they are not designed for mud or puddles. The synthetic material has no waterproof membrane.
2. Do the boots stay on the ankle when running and climbing?
   The higher cut and two independent velcro straps hold the heel better than low trainers. Parents of children who are still learning to walk on uneven ground will appreciate this most.
3. Can I buy the same model in another colour?

4. How do I know when the boots are too small?
   The most reliable way is to take out the insole and have your child stand on it. There should still be at least a centimetre of space between the big toe and the end of the insole.
5. Can they cope with freezing days?
   No, they lack the insulation and waterproof sole needed for hard frost or snow. Casual Boot Baby is made for spring, autumn and days around zero. For real winter weather you need insulated winter boots.
