BEPPI Casual Boot Baby are all-season ankle boots for little walkers from the Portuguese brand Beppi. The upper is made of smooth synthetic leather, and the ankle is edged with a knitted collar in the same colour. Two velcro (hook-and-loop) straps make them easy to fasten.

They suit spring, autumn and mild winter days. They work well as a first autumn shoe for nursery, when low trainers no longer cope with morning dew and fallen leaves, but insulated winter boots are not yet needed.

1. Are they suitable for mud and autumn walks?
   The upper copes with a short shower, dew and wet grass, but they are not designed for mud or puddles, as the synthetic material has no waterproof membrane.
2. Does the boot stay on the ankle during running and climbing?
   The higher cut and two independent velcro straps hold the heel better than low trainers, which parents of children still learning to walk on uneven terrain will appreciate.
3. Can I buy the same model in another colour?

4. How do I know the boot is too small?
   The most reliable way is to take out the insole and have your child stand on it. There should still be at least a centimetre of space beyond the big toe.
5. Can the boot cope with freezing days?
   No, they lack the insulation and waterproof sole needed for hard frost or snow. Casual Boot Baby is for spring, autumn and days around zero. For real winter weather you need insulated winter boots.
