RAYVE Monsoon Cover Winter is the winter version of the Monsoon Cover wellies. It has the same cut and sole, plus a fleece collar with a drawstring and a fleece lining over the full height of the boot. The collar tightens around your child's calf, so snow stays out while they play in a snowdrift.

The light, flexible construction supports natural movement of the foot, and the anatomical shape leaves room for toes to spread and grow. The blue is dark, leaning towards petrol, with a beige collar and a caramel sole. Suitable for nursery, the playground and the woods, for winter puddles and for snow.

How to choose the right size

Measure your child's foot and add 9 to 12 mm of extra room. For winter boots we recommend going towards the upper end, as thicker socks are worn and you cannot add a wool insole here.

• always brush off coarse dirt first
• wipe the boots with a damp cloth
• do not wash the boots or dry them directly on heat sources, as the sewn-in fleece insole dries slowly and overheated rubber warps
• with proper care barefoot shoes will last you a long time

What might you want to know about RAYVE Monsoon Cover Winter?

1. Are they warm enough for January?
   For a typical Czech January, yes. For standing outside all day in a hard frost, no. They are fleece-insulated rubber wellies, not a winter boot with a membrane. For the walk to nursery, building a snowman and puddles after an afternoon thaw, they are just right.
2. Do they really keep snow and water out from above?
   Yes, the collar tightens around the calf with a drawstring and seals. When it is warmer, it can be folded over the edge of the boot, making the welly a little lower.
3. Can the insole be removed and dried separately?
   No. Unlike the uninsulated Monsoon Cover range, the insole here is sewn to the bottom. Dry the boots as a whole, standing next to a radiator, not on it.
4. Are they suitable for wider feet?
   Yes. In size 28 the inner width is 80 mm, which fits a child's foot even with a terry sock, and toes can still spread.
5. How do I choose the right size for winter?
   Measure your child's foot in the evening, when it is largest, and add 9 to 12 mm. We do not recommend more than 15 mm of extra room, as in a welly where the foot slides around, a child can rub the heel sore.
6. Can they be washed in the washing machine?
   No. The rubber would survive, but the sewn-in fleece insole gets soaked in the drum and then takes several days to dry.
