Walking, Movement and Health Podcast naBOSo
What do we actually need shoes for, and what should proper walking look like? What happens if we land hard on our heels? Comparing barefoot shoes with conventional footwear.
Meet Mgr. Lucie Pytlová, a physiotherapist who accepted the invitation to this episode of our podcast. She became really interested in the topic of walking barefoot and barefoot shoes while she was studying, and decided to focus on it in her diploma thesis as well. A little later, after finishing university, her phone rang and on the other end was a representative from Alferia publishing. One thing led to another, and three years later the book ‘Barefoot: Live Barefoot!’ was born.
We’ll start our chat by focusing on this very book. Lucie will look back on how it came about, and then we’ll move on to plenty of other topics – what we actually need shoes for, and what proper walking should look like. She’ll explain how barefoot shoes change the skin on our feet, what happens if we strike the ground hard with our heels, and she won’t miss out on comparing barefoot shoes with conventional footwear.
