TESTED BY TRAVELLERS"I had the chance to take the LEGUANO BEAT into some fairly extreme conditions. They served me brilliantly on a full-day trek through a tropical jungle. It started innocently, but over time the terrain turned into a muddy path full of slippery roots, with plenty of climbing and descending. Fortunately, the Leguanos didn't let me down. In conditions like that, any shoes will slip, but thanks to the thin sole I knew exactly what terrain was under my feet and how to adjust my body weight so I wouldn't slide. Walking on wet roots was much more comfortable and, above all, safer than in a conventional shoe. I could grip the root with my toes to a certain extent and keep better stability. In the end, I came out best of the whole group and wasn't caked in mud from head to toe like some members of the expedition. We eventually had to wade through a river, and that showed another advantage of my barefoot shoes. Everyone's shoes were completely soaked, but the leguanos dried the fastest."
